The Nansen Passport Association was created to provide consulting, psychological, legal and other assistance to refugees from countries with authoritarian and totalitarian regimes.
The Association employs qualified lawyers, teachers, journalists, psychologists, and translators as volunteers.
We extend a helping hand to all people who have left their country, and do not want to return there because of an authoritarian or totalitarian political regime, who find themselves in a difficult situation abroad.
The Association's activities do not replace, but complement, national asylum or refugee reception authorities, which are ultimately responsible for their own procedures and systems.
Principles
The principles of the Association are based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Geneva Convention, the Helsinki Declaration, as well as on common sense and the right of everyone who wants to change their life to receive support and assistance.
Goals
The most important task of the Association is to promote the humanistic ideas of Fridtjof Nansen, who showed the whole world an example of high altruism and help to people.
The Association's mission is to help refugees during the adaptation period, from the moment they seek help until they receive documents allowing them to work in a new country.
Mission
Priorities
Help for children and disabled people. The Association's priority is to provide assistance to refugees with children. This category of refugees has a particularly difficult time in a new country.
When providing all types of assistance to the Association, refugees with disabilities have priority rights.
